Meet our Team
NDIS disability support workers Gold Coast
-
My interests are sport, woodwork, reading, cooking and spending time with my family.
I am a Braille Transcriber with a background in Education before coming to Disability Support. The majority of that fifteen years in Education was spent supporting children with learning difficulties and physical and intellectual impairments. My most treasured role was as a Specialist Vision Support Teacher Aide/Braille Transcriber with a student who was blind.
The best part of helping/supporting is the 'light bulb moment'...that moment when the person/child/student you are supporting says, 'AHA! I can really do it!' Now that I work in the Disability sector I get to help people in more ways than just an educational way. That gives me great personal satisfaction.

Hailing from Victoria, I came to the Gold Coast for a change and 30 years later I’m still here.
My interests are following the AFL, particularly Collingwood… go the Pies, exercising, and spending time with my family and my dog.
I have a passion for equality regardless of an individual’s situation, and creating Community 3SIX5 provides the opportunity to create and influence opportunities for equality.

Hi my name is Teresa. My interests are music, soccer, exploring and trying new foods around the coast!
Originally hailing from Penrith, I moved to the Gold Coast in 2018. In 2016 I completed studies in Early Childhood Education and Care, and through this managed my own Family Day Care business.
Working within the disability sector has been an amazing eye-opening opportunity to really make a difference in people’s lives. Seeing participants reach their goals step by step and assisting them in every way possible has been a real feeling of triumph and joy.

I work in the disability field because I am passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals who face unique challenges. I believe in promoting inclusivity, equal opportunities, and helping others reach their full potential. Working with people with disabilities allows me to be a part of their journey, whether it’s helping them develop new skills, supporting their independence, or simply providing the encouragement they need. I find great fulfillment in creating environments where everyone feels valued and empowered, regardless of their abilities.

Hi, my name is Sally, I've worked in people centred industries my whole working life, first as a dental nurse
then doctors receptionist, full time foster carer, Airbnb short term property letting and finally a disability support worker.
I work in disability because I have a disability myself, I’m hearing impaired, and I can sympathise with the daily struggles that people with disabilities face, I enjoy helping people and making them smile.
My interests are weightlifting, cycling, crochet, knitting, reading and diet and nutrition.

Hi my name is Eddy Theo.
I am a passionate and soon to be registered nurse.
I am fluent in Kinyarwanda, Swahili, and English. I am friendly and sociable.
Beyond the confines of work, I enjoy playing golf, playing video games, watching movies, and working out. I love working in the disability industry, where every day brings an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
-
My Interests are expressing my creativity through arts and crafts, cherishing moments spent with my family, and embarking on travel adventures to discover new and exciting places.
After dedicating more than 20 years to the retail industry, I felt a strong desire to embark on a personal journey of learning and growth while simultaneously making a positive impact on others' lives. This aspiration propelled me towards the field of disability support work.
Within this work, I have discovered that every person I support brings a wealth of diverse experiences, challenges, and perspectives.
By embracing these interactions, my understanding has broadened, and my skills have flourished, fostering both personal and professional growth along the way.

My name is Rose.
My interests are running, the gym, cooking and doing fun things with my family.
The most important of the skills I believe I have learnt in my life are communication, patience, and resilience. I like to showcase a positive attitude, I am hard working, a qualified personal trainer, a qualified dental nurse, and I’m also a mum.
Being a support worker allows you to make a difference in people's lives. Giving physical and emotional support to people with a disability on a regular basis can make them feel more independent and confident. Helping people has always been a passion of mine.

Hi, my name is Silvio.
I graduated in Brazil as a physiotherapist and worked for 15 years in a large hospital in Sao Paulo. My expertise was working with patients in the ICU and Emergency care. Since arriving in Australia, I have loved working as a disability support worker. I have had the opportunity to meet so many incredible people, who I have loved helping to achieve their goals and live life to the fullest.
Outside work, you will usually find me in the water surfing, on the tatami training jiu jitsu or at home watching movies and cooking for my family, including my adopted Kelpi, Buddy.

Hi!! My name is Vanessa, growing up I always had a passion of helping people hence I am doing my nursing degree to get more opportunities to help people in need. Having an opportunity to be a support worker has exposed me to helping and supporting people early on before becoming a nurse and it fulfils my heart when I leave a smile on someone’s face because I have helped them achieve what they wanted.
I like to read, work-out, trying out new recipes, and watching movies.
I believe that each one, teach one. Always looking forward to learning new things from people and teaching them one thing or another.

My Interest is sport, gym, cooking, camping, and socialising with family and friends.
I am a ceramic wall and floor tiler by trade, I worked in disability and aged care many years ago back in my twenties. I also worked in daycare when I was 18 to 19 years old for a few years.
I have had around 35 years plus experience with disability as my father did work with disability for many years and this is how I became involved in my very early twenties.
I did enjoy helping my father out in time of need as he was short-staffed, our family was quite involved in the business. I loved the children/adults as it gave me great satisfaction of helping and seeing the kids and adults were so happy to have trips away or outing for the day.

Hi I’m Monica! I’m new to the disability industry and enjoying the many different experiences that every day brings.
Since becoming a disability support worker, I’ve realised that I have lived a very sheltered and privileged life. I now have a new appreciation for things that I take for granted every day and I am privileged to help our wonderful participants in their day to day lives.
I’m very hands on and I like to create! Whether I’m painting a decoration for my home or making my own clothes, I enjoy expressing my creativity in different ways.
‘Hi, my name is David Anthony Pike But you can call me Pikey!!
I'm 62 years of age and live with a disability. I would like to say thank you to community 3sixfive for the awesome support that I receive. My life can be challenging but I know I’m supported, and it makes my gray days blue. I love the way that community 3six5 are caring, patient, encouraging, and give me good options for me to choose from and support to achieve the goals I choose. It had been ten years since I had been in the swimming pool but with support and encouragement we reached my goal.
I now have the confidence and courage to enjoy other activities like boat cruising, motorbike and car shows, sightseeing,
Fishing, even having a cook up BBQ at the beach. I can really say that I am being looked after good by Community 3SIX5 and my family sees the changes in me too.
Thanks community 3six5 for making a difference in my life.’
— David, in his own words.
